Roe Dykeman, which returned to the port of Seward Saturday after a •successful bear hunt on the peninsula, continued on South early in the evening. The party consisted of four hunters from the East, R. M. Topham, W. F. Pape, J. F. Lamb and Johnstone Vance, all of whom were more than pleased with i the trip, for each bagged a big brown bear, and Mr. Lamb obtained a black bear for good measure. The Westward is owned by Camp, bell Church, millionaire sportsman of Eugene, Ore. Last spring Mr. Church equipped the yacht with a whale gun, and now that the hunters each have a brown bear trophy to take home, they are anxious to see the whale gun do its stuff. This may happen on a cruise South. Of course, a whale* pelt would be rather too much of a trophy for even the most enthusiasic sports, man to drag into the old home town, but at least they expect to get some good movies and not a few new thrills. “Two fox farmers- in Prince William Sound have already requested that I capture whales for them,” said Capt. Dykeman Saturday, “and I don’t ex. peet to have any trouble selling all we can take.
