Seward Alaska ■^V***^** «<j NEW MING IS MM ON HOMESTEAD CMS . H/Totpvs end hounds desc.riotion , inrrl ore f,n be omitted in Drool . notices for bomesfeed esses in Alaska, according to an announce jment released bv the General Land (office of the TT S rienartm°nt of it, he interior. The new order is j°n amendment to Circular 491, it I so vs. I T'be statement sa.vg in nart: In Alaska. in the clas~es of entries mentoTied. the imnortant feature oF n^onf notices is to inform all interested un-ties of the geogranh ical location of the land, and the information should be given in such a. wnv that the people who read the notice will be able to in erpvel it prenerlv. The meters and hounds description is technical end not generally understood, hence in these cases it is not of much value to the general public as a means of identification of land. The meters and bounds de scription adds to length of notice and to the cost of the notice to the claimant. The statute does net reoulre the inclusion of such description in the published notice. Adverse claimants may inform themselves as to hte exact location of the land by the markings on j the ground or from a copy of the survey which mud be filed in the j district land office and posted on the land. It is believed, therefore, that in the cases mentioned, and for the reasons stated, the inclusion of the metes and bounds descriptions in the published notices, is objection pole and unnecessary. It is di rected, therefore, that therafter such descriptions be omitted. A NKVV ALLOY Aluminum is combined with other metals, according to reports of processes developed by a San Francisco inventor, to form valua ble alloys.
