Westover, vice president and secretary of the General Elec tric Co., of Schenectady, N. Y., was through Alaska two years ago, making the Yukon River trip. He was accompanied by Mrs. West over. In a letter written enroute he says among other things: “I have had a most enjoyable trip and it surely was a surprise to run into you who knew my people. We have been especially fortunate in the weather and I doubt it any other party this year has had such uniformly good luck. “On three of the four days we were in McKinley Park th moun tain was visible. We had perfect weather at Dawson. Altogether, our Alaska trip has been a great sucess.” A1 A. Reynolds, manager of the Coma Hotel at Hot Springs, Ark., was through Alaska in 1928, taking the Yukon River trip. He was ac companied by Mrs. Reynolds. In speaking of his trip he says: “It is peculiar the lure that ‘dern’ country of your’s has for me. I have been trying to get back since my initial visit two years ago, and some of these days I am likely to surprise.” WASHINGTON MIKE FIGURES IN DEIL SPOKANE, Wash, July 29. (A3)— Sale of the property of the Scan dinavian-Pend Oreille Mining Co., under a bond and lease, to L. K. Armstrong, mining engineer, was authorized by the stockholders at j a recent meeting in Metaline Falls. It is believed at Metaline Falls that Mr. Armstrong will eventually turn the property to a large op erator. The Bunker Hill & Sullivan Min ing and Concentrating Company of Kellogg, Idaho, has begun ex ploration on the Leadhill group of 10 claims adjoining its group of 17 claims ir? the Slate Creek area. WESTWARD COAL MINING Niles Jacobson, of Seldovia, has put his new boat into service as a coal carrier and has been busy making cargo deliveries from the neighboring ledges. The boat car ries 10 tons without trouble. Mr. Jacobson will share in a contract to furnish the Seldovia school with its winter supply of coal, re ports the Seldovia Herald.
