SEWARD MACHINE SHOP SEWARD AGENT FOR FORD AUTOMOBILES CARLOADS OF COAL Car after car of Evan Jones coal is coming into the local yards from the Jonesville mine for the Libby, McNeil & Libby and the Alaska Tickers Westward canneries. The S. S.Latouche and S.S. Otsego will deliver the coal the latter part of this month. BUSINESS MANAGER ARRIVES C. H. Rutton, who with Aviators Mills and Waterworth, sometime ago, decided that they would start an air training school in Alaska with headquarters at Anchorage, was an arrival in Seward on the liner Alaska. Rutton is enroute to Anchorage where he will join Mills and Waterworth. The latter two arrived in Seward on the SS Yu kon. assembled their plane at the Seward field and hopped off for Anchorage Monday in their two place training plane. Mr. Rutton, a licensed transport flier, will han dle the business end of the train- j ing school. CITY ABANDONED SANTO STEFANO, Italy, April 8.' j <7P>—Complete abandonment of this town of 2.400 people has been or dered by Premier Mussolini after the collapse of its central district into ancient caverns which is un dermining it. C., April 8.— The Seward Rifle Club of Seward, Alaska, has been issued a charter by the National Rifle Association, according to an announcement made at the headquarters of the association here. The officers of the new club are: J. H. Flickinger, president: Leonard Hopkins, vice president; D. E. Va lade, secretary; O. Ulshagen, treas urer, and Fred Kielcheski, executive officer. The club is one of about 2,800 active rifle shooting clubs affiliat ed with the National Rifle Associa tion. LUTHERAN SERVICES Friday evening at 7 p. m. a serv ice will be held in the Episcopal church. Holy communion will be celebrated in connection with this service.
