The High School A thletic Association has a small amount 1 yet owing; and the Seward’s Fol ly has a debt unpaid. It has in the past been the cus tom for graduating classes to leave some gift to the school. This year’s class decided to put on a play on one condition—that the proceeds be used to leave the high school organizations free of debt. They believe that, in view of existing business conditions, this is a bet ter policy than to add something new to the school. The play is being produced in the High School Auditorium May 17 at 8 o'clock; admission 50c for all; no reserved seats. PLANE GOES WESTWARD Pilot Clayton Scott dropped in from Cordova early today in his amphibian plane bringing one pas senger, Gill Rich, well known sales man. Scott left soon after with two passengers for Dillingham. He ex pected to return Wednesday to pick up Rich, then fly to Anchor age for Joe Freeman, another salesman. Together they will make their Interior and down-river an nual trip, by plane- Scott said he thought he would be absent on the Interior job for about a month, re turning then to his Cordova base. C., May 16, — Chairman James Stone of the Fed eral farm board, said an increase )f 10c or more a bushel in the price )f wheat is justified by the gov ernment estimate, of 440,781,000 jushels winter crop for this year. Private reports indicate that this estimate may ve over the actual conditions. The Agricultural d e oartment estimated a 1932 ry crop )f 39,464,000 bushels, compared to S2.746.0C0 last year. The wheat estimate was 18,000, )00 bushels below the estimates as )f April 1.
