Little was offered for Gertrude Mulcahey as Mrs. Hattie Bennett, maternal commander of the house hold., but what there was bore the same high degree of finish which characterized the work of the re mainder of the cast. Again, little save stage presence was left for Emory Kunkie as Jas. Taku Reymand, capitalist and in vestor. In this the casting director repeated his skill in piont of selec tion. To quote a line of the play, he not only eptiomized the phil-i osophy of the saleman selling his goods but selling himself to his custo.mers. He added to his person-, ality the sum total of that sold from the stage by every member of his collaborators. To guard against tedium be tween acts, and adding a highly appreciative entre act Helen Wil son. Ray Bounce and Vic Brown brougiit the K F Q D Serenaders forward in two well-chosen vocal harmony numbers, accompanied on tire piano by the well-known An-1 chorage musical favorite, Mrs. Nell Hewitt. Lending a final touch to a splen did evening’s entertainment was the orchestra music by the K F Q D Serenaders. It was not difficult to detect the skilled hand of Maurice L. Sharp in the casting and directing of “Let Anne Do It,” whereby he has again scored in choosing some thing worthy of the skill and abil ity of local Alaska artists, and which encourages theatricals equal and often superior to professional offerings. Seward will always welcome the Anchorage players, and especi ally if they bring us such refresh ing and wholesome entertainment as “Let Anne Do It.” Ray Jones, who has been up the line on a beaver hunt, has return ed to Seward with part of his quota of pelts. _ Oscar Dahl, Moose Pass mining man, was an arrival last night for an extended visit in the city.
