Mr. Dickens is to have charge of the Alaska exhibits at the world’s fair in Chicago. # * * * Indications are now that the spe cial session of Congress will not end until sometime after the mid dle of June. Much emergency leg islation remains to be enacted. Administration measures only are being considered, which means that other legislation must wait over until the December session * * * * Delegate Dimond is endeavoring to secure the appointment of a House- committee to travel to Alas ka this summer and make a thor ough study of the fisheries and In dian problems. Data secured by the committee, he believes, would go a long way in insuring sympathetic consideration by Congress. * * * * With reference to postmaster-1 ships, Delegate Dimond was told by First Assistant Postmaster Gen eral Joseph C. O’Mahonev, that in his opinion the President wall probably make no permanent ap pointments until the regular ses sion of Congress convenes in De cember. With thousands of ap pointments coming up, it is not| likely he wall have time to consider ; them now.
