Webb. chairman of the Delaware Division. American Cancer Society, said this week at the opening of the division's new first-floor headquarters at 1324 Market street, Wilmington. Lieutenant-Governor Alexis I. i duPont Bayard, who joined Mr. Webb in the ceremonies at the new headquarters, thanked the cancer society members for ■■unsemsh de votion to public service. He de clared that in Delaware, the fight , against cancer is being conducted , intelligently and well. Mr. Webb pointed out that can examinations are 20 Per Cent Of cer detection available to Delaware women 35 years of age and older at the de tection centers operated by the Delaware Division. and also through their own physicians. j He said that several thousands have been examined in thé detec- i tion centers and countless others in their physicians' offices. "It is safe to estimate," he continued "that not ; more than 20 per cent of the women ' of the eligible age group have tak en the precaution of getting these examinations. 1 ! There are probably only a few people in our state who do not know about our remarkably efficient cancer de tection centers, about the aid our society gives to needy cancer pa tients, about the education work that is being done in Delaware to spread available knowledge on can cer, and about this information center, opening in this new and more convenient location. Almost all of us know, also, of the great national research efforts which some day will, we believe, unlock the secrets of cancer." District No. 3, in Dover, on Sept. 20 with C. Kenneth Simpson, W.
