_ State College Board Members Appointed (continued itou nm me) Ing his hearing on charges of mis-t administration. Judge Melson's term on the board would have ex plred in June, 1963. A graduate of Lafayette College, Mr. Nickel also studied at Columbia University and the University of; Pennsylvania and at two different times was an instructor at Lafa yette. He is past vice-president of the Delaware State Educational As sociation, past president of the Middletown Rotary Club and past master of the Middletown Masonic Lodge. While the schools of the state were still operated under the old county system, Mr. Nickel ser ved as principal of the Milford schools. He later served as supcr n tendent of the Caesar Rodney School and principal of Middle town Schools for a number of Tears. Mrs. Buchanan, past president of the Delaware State Federation of Women's Clubs, succeeds Earle D. Willey who retired from the board as of June 6, 1949. Active In wo men's affairs, she is president of the Dover Council of Church Wo men, and president of the State Baptist Women's Missionary Socie ty. She is a graduate of Meredith College. Raleigh, N. C.. and served there for three years as director of religious activities and for one year as assistant dean of women. She is a member of the American Associ ation of University Women. Mrs. Buchanan is the wife of Edgar W. Buchanan, Dover mer chant and instructor in economics and business administration at Wesley Junior College. They have one daughter, Rebecca. Other members of the board are: Caleb M. Wright, of Georgetown, president; Samuel N. Culver of Delmar; Clarence-Polk of Milford, and Mrs. Beatrice Berryman of Wil mington. Announcement of the new ap pointments was made by Harris B. McDowell, ' Jr., secretary of state, in the absence of Governor Carvel who is attending a national govl ernors' conference in Colorado.
