Taber, there was a volumn of complaints on the taking of Christmas greens from private pro- perties, especially in downstate areas where "uninvited visitors" were removing holly and trees from properties. And, he further said, that taking such products of the land without consent of the owner is "just plain stealing," add- ing that under the law this misde- meanor is punishable by a fine up to 1200 and imprisonment up to 60 days. Much of this pilfering occur- red in this area. It was surprising that many people felt free to get holly and trees without even ask- ing permission of the owner, when they were aware of the fact that it was a source of revenue to the owner. FREAK BLOOM Stafford, England — (JP) — George Astlds, a gardener here, produced a freak chrysanthemum. The bloom is divided down the center, one side white and the other red.
