When I was younger, this verse ha<J little
meaning for me; for I felt that 1 could pretty
much do all things for myself, if 1 put my mind
to it. Certainly, when I became an adult, I would
be able ^o do all things, by the strength of my
right arm and the wisdom of my brain.
But now I know that I cannot do all things by
myself: in some things I just do not have the *
physical strength; in others, 1 do not have the
faith or the courage. But this inability to do all
things "on my own" does, not fill me with hope
lessness and despair. For many things are not
needful for me to do. Someone else can*do them
a lot better. It doesn't concern me, now, that I
cannot lift pianos like « furniture-mover; it
doesn't concern me, now, that I cannot build
bridges, like an engineer; it doesn't concern me,
now, that t cannot climb to the summit of Mt.
Everest, like a professional mountain-climber.
These things do not concern me for I do not £eel
that they are a part of God's plan for me.
1 have complete faith that 1 can do all things
that are needful for me to do — all things that
God intends me to do - as I submit myself in
humility, to the God of Jesus Christ. When 1
have a problem, I submit it to Him, in prayer -
notattempting to dictate the answer to my prayer,
but merely placing the problem in His hands and
leaving it there. He always guides me into what
experience proves is His answer - the best
answer — to my problem'; and with His guidance,
pomes the strength and courage to carry it out.
I have proven throughout my life that "I 'can do
all things through Christ which strengtheneth
me.

; Lake George, the unique self-dump
{ing lake, has done it again. The an
nual emptying of the picturesque
; Chugaéh Mountains lake is a phe
! nomenon of the ice.
i It is sealed with a barrier of ice
; each winter. As summer brings the
j big thaw, the barrier weakens grad
ually under the pressure of the
mounting 26 mile long, 4 mile wide
reservoir.
i The flow builds to river propor
tions, ripping out chunks of weak
j ened ice the size of a' small house
and tossing them along in the tor
I rent down a mountain gçrge.
This year, the breakup was near
I ly a month ahead of last year, due
j to the warm bummer. The runoff
I raised the Knik and Matanuska
j rivers five feet and the rush of de
I bris and ice threatened bridges and
j trestles. The lake is 50 miles north
of Anchorage.

GOLF COURSE KNIGHTS
ASHEVILLE. N. C.—(TP)—Across
the Biltmore Forest Country Club's
{golf course, deputies sheriff trailed
the hoof marks of horses. Upon
j the greens they found the turf rent
j by iron shoes. Prom a nearby pond
! they Ashed up the bridles. In
{shrubbery they discovered bidden
! saddles. The tracks led back t* the
Biltmore Forest Stables, where
doors stood ajar.
Deputies finally ferreted the
facts two young knights of 1953,
unencumbered by warriors' mali,
plumes or swords, had swiped the
animals, charged across the course
and jousted in the starlight, using
flagstaffs of the green markers as
their lances.
UNLUCKY DRIVER

dler Kenneth Etter of Camp Rob
erts needed a little extra cash so
he got a job driving a cab in his
spare time.
He had Just taken off with his
first fare when an automobile car
eened into his cab.
Uninjured, Etter declared he did
