SHAKESPEARE GARDEN NEW YORK — (JP) The Shake speare Club of New York wants money for flowers and a new nose for the bard. Members explain that thee lub set up a Shakespeare gar den in Central Park in 1915. In it were put ICO plants mentioned by the poet in his writing. There was also a bust and other decorations. Now less than half the original plants remain and vandals have broken the nose of the bust. En thusiasts have been boning up on the plants, helped by color pictures from England. Some park officials however, take a dim view of efforts to restore the plants or repair the bust. Some of the plants Just won't grow in New York and others need more cultivation than can be pro vided, they say. The bust Just isn't worth a repair Job, they insist.
