from returns of railway traffic sub

concerned were comparatively sluggish

varjing movements St Paul showed an
undertone of great strength Nothing
new in the situation in the Copper in
dustry came to light
The local traction stocks and Consoli
dated Gas were notably weak and Jn the
absence of any more definite explanation
It was -assumed that their tendency for
shadowed an adverse decision in the
franchise litigation- now before a referee
The recent decision of the Supreme Court
of Illinois affirming the right of the State
to determine the aIuatlon of franchises
was commonly assumed to foreshadow a
similar decision In the New- York Stale
courts and this probably added to the
pessimistic fe cllng upon local securities
Peoples Gas continued exceedingly weak
on account of the Illinois Supreme Court
decision and the Chicago stock market
was exceedingly heavj under the same

The strong features of the railway list
were the anthracite coal stocks although

TEE PRIVILEGE -WITHDRAWN
S Wilson Denied the Knrthcr
lllglit to Visit IHn Children
Justice Bradley yesterday Blgned a de
cree which stipulates that Posey S Wil
son the divorced husband of Augusta 12
Wilson will not in the future be permit
ted to viiit his childiennow in the cus
tody of Mrs Wilson This decree was
made on the petition ofMrs Wilson who
stated that for some time Mr Wilson had
been abusing the privljrge of seeing his
children granted lilirtltVthe court at the
time that the ptrtlcswcre divorced Tiie
decree signed by Jnttlce Bradley is as
follows 1 j
Ordered That the privilege given Pos
ey S Wilson by theorlglnal decree to see
the children at cerfaluC Jlmcs therein
mentioned and relation tor
his rislt e tne children
tory to said decree be and the same arc
hereby revoked and set aside
In her petition Mrs Wilson alleged
that aside from the harmful results to
the children of Mr Wilsons visits he
also annoytd her Eier since the -parties
were divorced four or five years ago Mr
Wilsons visits to his children have been
a matter of frequent consideration by the
local courts As a result of the differ
ences between himself and Mrs Wilson
as regards the welfare of the children
contempt proceedings were instltuteel
ngalnn him last summer He failed to
answer the order of the court and Jus
tice Bradley signed a decree committing
him to Jail for contempt for an indefinite
period The order was afterward changed
and limited his Imprisonment to thirty
davs
Mr Wilson In his own behalf savs that
Mrs Wilson has nlwavs created the cir
cumstances which have been the founda
tion of the annoyances by Interposing
factitious obstacles to his seeing the chil
dren These consisted of hiding the clll
elren from him persuading them not to
go bringing other children in to play
with them on his allenteel days or send
ing them out to visit other children
BATEMAN WILL SET ASIDE

Meiunel Jlllnel Slistfllneel
The will of Nathaniel C Bate man was

erty to his son William T Bateman with
the exception of bequests of J100 to each
of his daURhters Mrs Mary M C Taylor
