Through the enterprising spirit of the secretary and general manager, N. J. Lillard, arrangements have been made for an altogether new feature to be pulled off by the Pensacola Inter state Fair Association. Mr. Lillard has arranged to turn Kupfrlan park into a real park during this - summer and amusements of various kinds will be provided for those who .visit the place during this time. It is probable that the park will be open every afternoon and night and It Is sure to prove one of the most popu lar places in the city for those seeking recreation. Mr. Lillard said yesterday afternoon that he thought it probable that there would be a skating rink, merry-go-rounds, swings, etc., for the amuse ment of the crowds, besides a dancing pavilion. "There will also probably be automobile, bicycle and motorcycle races at regular periods. The park will be conducted under the auspices' of the Pensacola Inter state Fair Association and the funds derived from it will go into the treas ury of the association. Mr. Lillard Is very enthusiastic over the proposition and believes that It is sure to prove a success In every re spect and to provide Innocent amuse ment for hundreds of Pensacollans during the hot summer months. ROBERTS GOT LARGEST VOTE HE HEADS THE LIST OF CANDI DATES WHO HAD NO OPPOSI TION IN THE RECENT PRIM ARIES. J. S. Roberts, the genial tax collec tor of Escambia county, heads the list in the number of votes received by candidates without opposition in the recent primary. His total vote in the county was 2,314, of which he is justly proud. County Solicitor Scott M. Loftin was the next high man with a total of 2,275 votes, and James Mac gibbon, clerk of the circuit court, third with 2,235. HARRIS. Special to The Journal. Harris, May 7j Mr. Claude Hall, of Pensacola, is spending a few days here the guest of his sisters, Misses Besie and Mamie Halt Miss Dottle Miner, of Cobb, Fla., was the guest of her sister. Miss Minnie Miller, a few days last week. Miss Minnie closed her school here Wednes day and returned home with her sister or the steamer Capt. Frits Sunday. Mr. C. T. Eccles, of Pensacola, spent a few pleasant hours with us last Sun day. Mr. D. R. King was a passenger to Pensacola on the steamer Capt Fritz Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jeffers and Mrs. Betsy Martin were pleasant callers at the home of Capt. Ward and family Sunday evening. Mr. Will Hand was a business caller here Monday from Garnlers. The many friends here of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jeffers and Mrs. Betsy Mar tin regret very much to learn they will leave us Thursday for their home In Flint, Mich., but are very glad to hear them promise to return in July to make their home here among us. They have only been wtth. us now for the past six months, but are well liked by all who know them. - Mr. R. M. Hall left Sunday on the steamer Capt. Fritz to visit his son, Wallace Hall, in Macon, Ga for a few days. Miss Bonnie Burnham, of Pensacola, has beer the guest of Mrs. A. E. Mc Guire ttr the past two weeks and seems very much Improved, as she vas quite ill when she came here. Capt. J. F.
