M. C. A. gathered first In the gym nasium and then in the parlors of the association as guests of the Senior Basketball League. Two games were played, the Rexalls beating the Sharks 32 to 17, and the Whitmans beating the Pirates 40 to 16. Both contests were rather one sided, the latter being particularly so because of some weakness due to sub stitution in the Pirates. Those that played were Sharks Brown, Smith, Avery, Hor rell, HofTman. Rexalls Scholls, Phillips, Olsen. "Wallace. Vinson. Whitmans Fickas, Barrow, Gibson, Diaz, Langford. Pirates Jones, H. Smith, Moore, Bell, McCluny. It was the first ladies night since the meeting of the league of last week, when it was decided to hold a-special basketball night, with social to fol low, every other Wednesday night. A goodly number of ladies were present In company with friends and male escorts, and there was a jolly time. The playing of a number of classic and popular selections by the T. M. C. A. orchestra was greatly enjoyed, while songs by John Frankle and Otto Ortell were generously applauded. The refreshments were served by the members of the teams. Henderson, of the Pensacola Com mercial Association, the proposed con ference of landowners to have been held at De Funlak was called oft dur ing the day. Mr. Henderson said so few could give unqualified assurances they would be there that it was decided best to cancel the arrangements for . today. John Holmes, petit larceny, J15 and costs or three months. Mattio Davis and Rosa Butler, ne groes, pleaded guilty to being lewd persons, but they have not yet been sentenced. Willie Freeman, negro, charged with stealing a watch from Manuel Rod rigues. also pleaded guilty, but has not yet been sentenced. Freeman was arrested several days ago by City De tective Yniestra. F. C. WEBB IS NOW A PENSACOLIAN F. C. Webb, formerly of Georgians, Ala., has accepted a position with th V. F. Balcora Drug Company. Mr. Webb is a young man who ha made an enviable reputation as a pharmacist, and Is, besides, a most clever and genial gentleman, who will receive a warm welcome toPensaeola. At the plea day session of the court of record yesterday morning. Judge E. D. Bergs presiding. Frank Johnson and Walter Snowden, both small ne gro boys, pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing 500 sacks, valued at $25, and each of them was sentenced to serve one year In the state reform school or pay a fine of $100 and costs. The sacks were stolen from a cooperage company on South Baylen street. Isaiah Luckey, negro, charged with stealing a coat from Emilia Williams, a negro woman, who was before the court on the charge of entering with out breaking with intent to commit a misdemeanor, was fined $50 and costs or six months. Other defendants who pleaded guilty to the charges against them were as fellows: James Laumao, vagrancy, costs or fifteen days. Frank Newman, vagrancy, costs or fifteen days.
