chalk, a s.eamship is expected alr.ost
any day by the Clulf Transit company,
the vessel having been out lon' enough
to be near this port, and some of the
employes were locking for the steamer
last week.
The cr.tire carjro is coming from Lon
don, whence several cargoes have been
received in the past. The entire lot
is for importers at inland points, a
si eat deal of the consignment being
billed to the local whiting factory,
located just north of the city limits.
Mrs. Humphreys Laid at
Rest in St. Michael's
The funeral cf Mrs". Oad Humphreys,
who passed away Friday, took place
from St. Michael s church, with High
Mass, Sunday morning. A lare num
ber cf sorrcwin? relatives and friends
accompanied the remains to their last
restin? place in St. Michael's cemetery
where the ?rave was covered with
masses of flowers.
