Burgess, for a long time saw filer at the Robinson Point mill, but of late proprietor of a pleasure resort at that place, were pained yesterday to learn that he had passed away, and that his funeral, attended by a large number of his friends, was held on Thursday afternoon at Bagdad. Mr. Burgess, in apparent good health, had retire'd for the night. He appeared to be in good health, and f 01 the past several days previous had been telling his wife and friends how well he was feeling. Wednesday night, however, after retiring, and going to sleep, his wife, having occa sion to go to hi3 bedside about 11 o'clock, discovered that he was dying, and before a physician could be sum moned he had passed into the last long sleep which knows no awakening. On his life a friend furnishes the following: "Mr. Burgess for years was em ployed in the Robinson Point mill as saw filer, but of late years he had suc cessfully conducted a summer pleas ure resort at this place. He was well known and highly respected by all who knew him, and his kind disposi tion won for him the friendship of all with whom he came in contact. Mr. Burgess has several relatives in the north to mourn his loss, but his wife is his only surviving relative in the south, and she has the heartfelt sym pathy of all in her hours of loneliness and grief."
