The fire was the most spectacular one Seen in the city for some time, due to the highly in flammable nature of some of the ma terial burned including several barrels of oil and the department was obliged to fight for three hours to gain com plete control of the situation. The building was a rough frame structure. T.' A. Johnson, secretary and treas urer of the company, stated that th-s origin - of the fire was Unknown and that the loss amounted to about 54,000. about one half of which was covered by insurance.
