Several thousand people in Alabama already know of the marvelous, restor ative, corrective and vitalizing power of . Lreco. Many who have believed themselves beyond all hope have been fully restored to health after all the other , reemdies have failed. , Yet there are some who are so in credulous as to doubt the " merits of this preparation. It is with the aim to overcome this doubt that we pub lish every day the signed statements of well known persons who have ac tually tested, Dreco, so there will be no more doubt in the minds of these skeptics as to the truth of this as sertion. ' . . . '. - .. ' '.; ' A statement recently received from Mr. Jno. N. Opie, tbe well known mau facturers' agent, of 209 St. Louis St, Mobile, Ala., will be read with much interest. He says: "I had suffered for a numher of years with my stomach and ; had no appetite whatever . I coulo not keep the lightest of food in my stomach as it would ferment and cause gas to form. I suffered agoXy after eating. I was nervous and could - not sleep at night, and my liver 'was out of order, which made We awfully dizzy at times. I was constipated and lost from two to three days a week at my work. I had tried everything I ever heard of in the way of medicine, but nothing did me any good until : I started taking Dreco, and now my troubles are past. I e"at big meals and they never hurt me, and I haven't -any more gas. My liver is acting fine and I never have any more dizzy spells. My nerves are : quieted and "i sleep fine. Dreco has done me more good than anything else ever did." Mr. Stout, the well known. Dreco ex pert, has headquarters at the Balk com Drug Co., to meet the local public and explain the merits of this great remedy. See him today. Adv. W. CCS. WORK TO CONTINUE INDEFINITELY LOCAL SECRETARY HAS RE TURNED FROM CHATTANOOGA, WHERE HE ATTENDED CON FERENCE OF WORKERS. War camp community service work will continue until the last of the men mobilized int othe service of the U. S. army in the World War will have been demobilized, said H. B McAllis ter, secretary in charge of ; the work in Pensacola, in stating the substance of a conference of secretaries of the southeastern division which he attend ed in Chattanooga Monday and Tues day, and which was attended by five of the national directors. Mr. McAllister returned ' from the conference yesterday morning and 'be gan at once for a continuance of ac tivities here on a scale that is intended to embrace an even greater and more enthusiastic a community spirit in the work than heretofore.- . In going or returning from Chatta nooga Mr. McAllister visited the com munity service headquarters at Mont gomery, Atlanta, Blrmingha mand of course at Chattanooga, and he says that he is fully convinced that In neither of these cities is there as mani fest a community spirit in the work as is to be found, in Pensacola, and cer tainly none of them are doing greater rieyMoiii" CHEAP good even though they may be spend ing proportionately' more money.; Renorts and discussions, at the con ference, which was largely attended. Indicated, according. to,MV. McAllister, 'that 'after the "War Camp Community Service will have -finished the job of i looking after the interests' of service men, the organization-now in. existence and others to" follow in the nbri-camp towns, will devote . their energies to community - service in which the war has debmnstrated ; they can b6 so im portant a factor. : ' More than. 80,000 women- office workers have joined . trade -union or ganizations in America during the' past year. . , ' - ' nr.r. m i fm w THEDA lira Dl RECTION SPECIAL TRAIN TO EVERGLADES WH1K0TRUN s . . r v ::; - (BY JOHN C. TRICE.) Tallahassee, May 22. The house to day declined to agree to the proposi tion submitted -last night,; or going to the Everglades on -a trip -of Inspec tion of that section, primarily to en able the members of the legislative "body to determine whether it is to the best interests of the state to sell the Everglades land .as provided in the Singletary bill or not " When the bill providing: for the trip came to the house in : the afternoon. It carried an appropriation of six thou sand dollars to be paid out of the monies in the internal improvement fund. ' - This - amount ..being -for the transportation of the. party 'by special train. Mr. Marshall, the introducer of the bill stated that he had been in conference- with the Internal improve ment trustees and that they felt justi fied in making this expenditure for tha purpose of acquainting the lawmakers with the improvements that have been made down there, and with the' value of the lands still owned by the state. Speaker Wiiilr took his place on the floor and strenuously opposed the bill. He told them if they voted to go he would not do it. That he 4 would re main at the capital and catch up with "work which is accumulating ' on him. Messrs. Bryan, Jones and Folks also spoke against the bill. It was strongly supported by Messrs.. Marshall and Watson, and partially supported by Mr. Miller. The latter stated" that If the house would agree" to hold night I saves ti::e VVSAVES SOApVvV 3SK T . a: Suffer?-' ? An effort on the part of Mr. Mar shall to suspend ,.the consideration of the bill long enough to resolve upon this subject enabled him to get in the resolution, but a ruling of the chair prevented it going to a vote. The bill was then voted on, and failed to pass, 45 to 26. ; The position is taken by the friends of the proposition that it is the duty of the legislature to go down there and investigate the value of the lands Owned by -. the ' state at the present time, as well as the probable value of these same lands in the near future. The bill now before the house is looking to selling these lands at what tney term a rediculously 'low price. It is claimed by them they will be worth five and perhaps ten times their present value in a few years. They point out that in its dealings with the property holdings of the state, the legislature ought to do just what a prudent business man would, do un der the same circumstances. It is said that an ITort will be made to reconsider the vote by which the 1 ill failed to pass. To Cure Habitual Constipation Take "LAX-FOS WITH PEPSIX regularly for 14 to 21 days. The first ef fort ' to pass a bill over the vet of the governor' is to' be made perhaps tomorrow. It would have been at tempted - this afternoon, but for the fact that the message was not read in the house. The bill which has stirred up the rumpus Is Mr. Wytes bill against the use of seins for ' fishing in St. Lucie county. It was the cause of a bitter fight in the camunign at which Mr. Whyte was elected, so it Is said, an! he was elected on that platform. . The fight followed him, to Tallahassee, and has been relentlessly pushed. Notwithstanding this Mr. Whyte got the bill through, and was feeling good over it when the veto of the governor hit him like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky. In , conversation with a representa tive of the press today Mr. Whyte declared he was voluntarily assured by the governor that he would sign the bill just as soon as it reached h-n. Mr. Whyte says he things he will have no trouble in getting enough members to vote with, him to pass the bill over the veto of, the governor, "And it wil! be just as strong w'.thout his signature as it would have been with it," rather heatedly declared fie St. Lucie county representative.
