6, THE FENS ACOLA JOURNAL, TUESDAY MORNING, JUNE 3, 1919 ISEWATE STARTS WEEK WITH A Booze is Not a Good Cure. From the Ames Iowa Intelligencer. "When a man comes to you all doubled up with pain and declares he will die in your presence unless you procure him a drink of whiskey, send him to a doctor or else give him a dose of Chamberlain's Colic and Diarrhoea Remedy. There is a mis taken notion among a whole lot Ot people that booze is the best remedy for colic and stomach ache. Adv. CLEAN SLAT! RAY'S CORNER HARDWARE . UPPER BRANCH IS FAR AHEAD OF THE HOUSE WITH ITJ WORK I WHICH MUST END FRIDAY. IRISH CENSORSHIP NOT LIFTED YET AS IN ENGLAND Dublin, May 5. (Correspondence of the Associated Press). The Irish cen sorship has not been entirely discon tinued as has that of England. Major Bryan Copper, formerly unionist mem ber of parliament for South Dublin, has been appointed press censor for Ireland 8-icceeding Lord Decies, who has resigned. The Irish censorship, however, is declared 1o be voluntary and no paper is required to ' submit copy to the censor. 33ut as the penalties for ob jectionable publications will still re main, an 1 may involve seizure o plant and machinery, it is expected that the newspapers will make them selves safe by taking the censor's opinion on all doubtful matter. The government declares that "in the in terests of the peace of the country It is impossible for the government to perml: any section of the press to be ussd as an instrument of in citement to organized or Other' de fiance of the law or for the purpose of inflaming public opinion to a pitch in which acts of lawlessness become possible." But the government adds that "there is no intention to inter fere with legitimate political discuss ion or propaganda." It Is probable that while the general body of the Irish press will continue their rela tion with the censor very much as before, the Sinn Fein papers may take all risks. The nationalist press complains that the censor's practice of curtail ing the speeches of Sinn Fein lead ers had the effect of depriving the Irish public of any real basis for judging Sinn Fein policy which tney believe would have proved less at tractive than it did to the Irish elec tors if they had known the extreme terms In which it was some times put forward. Cut Thi Out and Take It With You. A man often forgets the exact name of the article he wishes to purchase, and as a last resort takes something else instead. That is always disap pointing and unsatisfactory. The safe way is to cut this out and take it with you so as to make Sure of getting Chamberlain's Tablets. You will find nothing quite so satisfactory for con stipation and Indigestion. Adv. BY HERBERT FELKEL. Tallahassee, June 2. For the first time in the history of either branch of the legislature, the senate calen dar of general as well as local bills was clear when adjournment .was taken Saturday until Monday morning a week - prior to the sine die ad journment of the session. Xot only was every bill on the en tire calendar taken up, but house mes sages ,were all taken up and the bills contained in them acted upon, many of them - passin gwithout ever going on the senate calendar. So the sen ate went even beyond its calendar and when, it adjourned till Monday there was absolutely nothing that it could consider. Its desks, calendar and everything before it were clean. Some measures were made special orders for later dates and others were informally passed over because of the absence or requests of Jnem bers, but all of them were reached, taken up and some disposition made of them. It was not today's work alone that . resulted In this a truly remarkable record but the fact thv the senate has kept the calendar practically cleared during the entire session. President Calkins receiv ing the congratulations of the capital for this achievement, for which he deserves a large share of the credit. A senate caucus Friday determined to clear the calendar Saturday. An other factor in this record was the fact that the house had done little, though working hard all the time. So few measures were sent over from the house that the senate was easily able to keep up with thm. It takes twice as long to call the roll in the house, which is a much larger body than the senate and quite hard to handle, and this means that the senate in all sessions Is far ahead of the house in its work, but the contrast is more pronounced at this time than ever before, it is said. m 11" ill fa. & I! f " ' I s3 Mllk9 WEaeaft asnd Meaft All give you the same character of nourishment protein and carbohy drates -the most important com pounds in food.
