Yesterday's closing rallies were not only lost, but prices made new low ground for the move ment, owing to less favorable reports from the goods trade and better wef " -r than expected In the south. Li. ool was lower than due and the market here opened easy at a decline of 26 'to 49 points under liquidation, southern, western, local and Liverpool selling. There was some irregularity right after the call, but' July soon broke to 29.55 and Oclober to 28.50, or 57 to 62 points net lower. There was trade buying around 28.50 for October and the early break was followed by rallies of about 20 points on the demand from that source and covering. The prospects for good weather over the week-end served to check buying otherwise. however, and the market was quiet around mid-day with the tone steady, although rallies were not fully maintained.
