"Shadows of Suspicion," the latest screen classics, inc. play in which Har old Lockwood will be seen as the star, and which will be shown at the Is!- theatre today, is a powerful drama oi the secret service. The play shows the deadly injus tice which can be done a man in war time if, though he is not seen in the uniform of the country, he is, nevertheless, silently and secretly us ing every energy and nerve in his brain and body for the safety of his country. The play is full of thrilling and Intense situations forcefully acted by this clever player, and the beauti ful romance which runs through the gripping plot makes the story one of deep human sympathy. Mr. Lockwood, Mason, Miss Mason plays the ro'e of Angela, the girl who is caught in just such a peculiar situation. To cap the climax, a boyish lover whom she cared for but had to discard for a n.an with mo. ey, resented her attitude, and to prevent her marring his rival explains o t' e rival that the girl wanted to marry him merely for his money. The boy didn't know, however, that the rarriage had already taken place. One might say the poor fish should have known that it was his money thr.t she wanted, and not him, and shouldn't have had to be told that by a mere boy. But wait a minute maybe one would be wrong and per haps the girl did love him. Maybe in the beginning she didn't even know that she loved him, but discovered it afterwards.
