LOUIS DUNCAN TO BE CELEBRATED ON WEDNESDAY: The Interest of society Is centered this week in the Approaching mar-rig- of Miss Vera Green to Mr. Louis Duncan of Muscogee, Oklahoma which takes place at the First Baptist church on Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock. Reverend J. A. Ansley pastor of the First. Baptist church will officiate. Members' of the bridal party will be: Miss Edna Finch, ma Id-of -honor, Miss Genevieve Carter, brides maid, Mrs. J. E. Davis Tonge and Mrs. Terrell Covington, of Greenville, S. C. sisters of the bride-elect, matrons-of-honor. Roberta Anson, the lovely lit tle daughter of Mr. and Mrs II. O. Anson will be flower-girl and ushers will be: Jack Roberts, Preston Avery, Pat Eagan, Davis Yonge, Forrest Dun can of Muscogee, Okla. brother of the groom will be best man. Among the out-of-town guests who will arrive this week for the wedding are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Green of New York City, who arrive tomorrow. Miss Margaret .Giles of Louisville ar rives this afternoon. Mr. Duncan and his brother arrive in the city tomor row afternoon. ' ', Following the ceremony a reception will be held at the home, of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jobb Green, lit West Gonzales street for a few Invited friends. The bride and groom will leave that night on a two weeks' honeymoon trip after which they will go to Muscogee, Oklahoma to make their home. ' . Miss Green is an unusually attrac tive girl and her winning person ality has endeared her to a host of friends who deeply regret that she goes so far from Pensacola to make her home. She has been the center of a delightful round of social gaieties during the past week one of the prettiest affairs given In her honor being the handkerchief and hosiery shower with which' she was compli mented by Mrs. H. O. Anson yester day afternoon. The color motlff of yellow and green effectively carried out with great clusters of fluffy Golden-rod and yel low cosmos with 'southern smilax palms and ferns formed a lovely back ground, suggestive of the fall season, for the shower which was held in the dinning room. Masses of yellow cos mos and 'feathery fern arranged among graceful festoons of smilax screened the walls. The table, love ly in its appointments was centered with a mass of yellow blooms In an arrangement of ferns. Yellow shad ed candles in silver candlebras cast a mellow glow over the table. The salads were served on plates, artisti cally fashioned into large sun flow ers. After the salads and icas, pret- - tily carrying out the color iichvaa. were served and while the guests were still seated. Roberta Anson, the at tractive little daughter of the hostess, dressed as an exquisite little Fairy with dainty tarlatan dress of yUow . with gold slippers and great yellow gauze wings flecked with silver and bright colored spots, entered, bearing a huge yellow pumpkin, which she presented to Miss Green and which upon investigation, proved to contain a lovely assortment of dainty hand kerchiefs and pairs of hosiery. Pieceding the shower a game bridge was enjoyed, five tables being In ; play. Top score waa made by Miss Virginia Swindell, the prise be ing a handsome pair of silk hose. Mrs. Willie Leonard who cut the consols. tlon received an exquisite Maderta handkerchief. Miss Green received as the guest prize. a pair of silk hose. A- Lounsberry was delight fully surprised on Monday when her children, grand-children and friends gathered at ; the family home 1004 North Alcaniz street to celebrate her seventy-sixth birthday ' with ' a ' most elaborate dinner. : iMrs. Lounsberry was recalled to her happy childhood I days by a huge white birthday cake bearing seventy-six candles, ; placed in the. center of the table. She'received a number of pretty and appropriate gifts and congratulations on her many years of a useful and happy life. - Mrs. Lounsberry is a South Carolinian by birth but for more than a half cen tury has made her home in Pensacola She still retains her youthful spirit and enjoys splendid health.
