Parents of these little ones had fallen victims to Influenza. v SENATE TO HEAR HEW RAIL CONTROL BILL Washington, Oct. 19. After adopt ing provisions to end railroad strikes by penalizing employes who go on strike, or others who foment Strikes, the senate interstate commerce com mittee today completed the draft of a bill to establish a"" permanent rail road policy. Government control and operation of "the roads would end In thirty days after enactment of the measure. Provision was made for the estab lishment of a federal commission on wages and working .conditions. This commission would have a number of subordinate, regional committees for prompt settlement of local disputes. On the vote on final adoption of the anti-strike provisions. Senator La Fol- lette. Republican, of Wisconsin, alone dissented. A poll ordered of absent members, however, was expected to develop a few other opponents. The committee's anti-strike clauses. which now are expected to retain In the bill as reported out next week,' follow those in the original Cummins bill, except that the penalties against Interference with interstate -commerce would apply to those who foment rail road strikes, such as outside labor leaders, as well as to the railroad employes. Storker Storkerson, formerly second In command of the Stefansson party, who arrived recently from the far northj said that Kolce, accompanied only by Eskimos, Is proceeding slowly and mapping portions of the coast lines as he goes. A stretch of they coast line of Victoria Land, here tofore unmapped, is being charted by Noice. Jfoice may visit the interior of Vic toria Land, which, according to all reports, has never been explored by white men. ' Xoice's parents live In Seattle. The explorer la young in years, having graduated from a high school here about eight years ago. He went north In 1912 with Captain Louis Lane oh the schooner Polar Bear. When Stef ansson purchased the Polar Bear from Lane, Nolce shipped as a member of the crew. Later, when Stefansson de cided to return to the outside world, Noice left the party and remained In the" North. His parents expect him to return to Seattle 'next year.
