GLASS OF SALTS CLEANS KIDNEYS If your Back is aching or Blad der bothers, drink lots of wa ter and eat less meat. "When s your kidneys hurt and your back feels sore, don't get scared and proceed to load your stomach with a lot of drugs that excite the kidneys and irritate the entire urinary tract. Keep your kidneys clean like you keep your bowels clean, by flushing them wlth a mild, harmless salts which re moves the body's urinous waste and stimulates them in their normal ac tivity. The function of the kidneys Is to filter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from 600 grains of acid and waste, so we can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Drink lots of watei you can't drink too much:. also get from any pharma cist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a tablespoonf ul in a glass of water before breakfast each morning for a few days and your kidneys will act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, : combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to clean and stimulate - clogged kidheys; also to neutralize the acids in urine so it no longer is a source of irritation, thus ending bladder weakness. Jad Salts is inexpensive; cannot in jure; makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink which everyone should take now and then to - keep their kidneys clean and active. Try this, also keep up the water drinking, and no doubt you will wonder what became ' of your kidney trouble and backache. Adv. - FRECKLES by BLOSSER j . . The North Florida Chamber of Commerce has received a letter from Charles Hall Davis, an attorney of Petersburg, Va., stating that Governor Hugh M. Dorsey, of Georgia, had informed him that this organization is actively behind the proposition to construct a sea level . canal connecting Cumberland Sound -.with the Mississippi river. Copies of the correspondence between Mr. Davis and Congressman Clark, and other interested parties, was also sent to - the North Florida Chamber of Commerce. s Congressman Clark wrote that he would introduce a substitute bill to H. R. 9449, extending the route to St. George's Sound, but since this would carry boats into the open gulf, and defeat the object sought by the North Florida Chamber of Commerce, to pro vide an all-inland, waterway along the gulf coast, the following telegram was sent to Congressman Clark Sat urday morning: Tallahassee. Fla., Oct. 18, 1919. Congressman Frank Clark, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C: Davis and your letter. Sea level canal all way Cumberland Sound to Mississippi river via St." Mary's. St. Marks, St. Andrews, Choctawhatchie, Escambia, Perdldo, Mobile bays and canal to New Orleans. All protected, no open gulf. Ample water from bays and rivers. Canal should accommo date - government ships. Interested states, will co-operate. Government canal already " connects Apalachicola and St. Andrews. NORTH FLORIDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Mrs. F. R. S. Phillips, secretary of the North Florida Chamber of Com merce is getting assistance in this important matter, and the organiza tion will have a delegation at Wash ington at any date that is set by the railroads and canals committee, Con gressman Clark having arranged for a hearing in the near future. This pro ject, long . delayed, now " seems to be well on the way to successful accom plishment. ' M ENTS TODAY. Carter DeHsven Frolics Through "Close to Nature." The time-worn phrase which usually winds up an account in small-town papers, to-wit: "A good time was had by all," may well be applied to th? characters in the latest Capitol com edy, "Close to Nature," which Is dls tributed by Goldwyn, and in which William Parsons- will present Mr. and Mrs. Carter Dellaven at the Isls the atre today. The original dispute which starts the story rolling revolves about the summer vacation of Jack (Carter lie Haven) and Ruth (Mrs. Carter De Haven). Jack is enthusiastic about the mountains, for such a trip brings vis ions of trout fishing, hiking and other inland sports. His wife, on the other hand, thinks of her new summer fin cry and grows "strong" for the sea shore. They compromise on a trip to the mountains. At the Resthaven hotel they have an indigestible dinner, ami are told to g6 to bed at 9 p. m. At this even Jack rebels, and borrows the hotel's one key so Jhat he and his wife may take a stroll in the moon light before retiring. Out in the road Jack takes a vindic tive look back at the hotel. What he sees astounds him. It is a silhouette of the original Jud- in ope of the win dows of the hotel. He remarks: "Isn't nature wonderful," but his wife hrm her private opinion. Jack becomes con. fused and tries to sit down on what appears to be a comfortable tree stump. It is really a cactus plant, and the poor man Is stung deeper than he cares to admit. He races for his room in the hotel, and his wife is called upon to pick out the needles. She sees the humor of the situation, and begins her task to the tune of "He loves me, he loves me not." The fun In the story is reflected in the actors, who had a real frolic during Its making. LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS.
