BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMAN'S CLUB. J. V. Reid addressed the Business and Professional- Woman's Club on their subject of study. South America. Mr. Reid has lived In South America and is thoroughly conversant with the subject. 'He considers the relation of the United States and South America in a commercial way. a missionary en deavor on the part of the United States; and'he particularly emphasizes the need of indulgence and cpmpliance with the Southern business and social customs. He considers South America the "logical trading point an oppor tunity for America to make the world envious.- ' The trade between the Americas has increased wonderfully since the war, he says, and what could b more logical than the develop ment of a Pensacola-Sontb, American trdae of importance? Yellow and white was the chosen color for the wedding and was beauti fully carried out with greatly yellow and white chrysanthemums and rosea against masses of southern greenery in the lower apartments of the homa which had been opened ensuite for the occasion. , . In the library where the eremony was performed the white and yellow blooms against palms banked the walls and palms and banks of flowers in a windowed recess of the room formed an altar where the ceremony was pre formed. " - Preceding the ceremony 'I Love You Truly," was played on the piano by Miss Marian Anderson with violin ac companiment by John Long. As Miss Anderson and Mr, Lang played the first notes of Mendelssohn's wedding march the bridal party en tered. The bride was .attended' by Miss Eulalie - Clark, as maid-of-honor-and Captain George Reynolds, U. S. M. CM served as best man. ! The bride was given in marriage by ner rather and was lovely in her wedding gown of white, georgette crepe made in round length with tunic skirt and close fitting bodice. The sleeves were long and flowing and the gown was elaborately embroidered in pearls with a wide girdle of solidly embroid ered pearls. Lending dignity and grace to her youthful figure was her bridal, veil, the. filmy folds falling to the hem of her skirt and arranged on the head cap effect to frame . her sweet young face and held in place by a chaplet of organge blossoms. Her only ornaments were a necklace of pearls and a handsome ring, her birth stone, a diamond set in platinum, a gift from her parents. She carried a great army .bouquet of ""bride's roses showered with val ley lilies, tied with tulle. Shannon. Captain and Mrs. Gladden left last night to go to Charleston, where they take a government transport to go to Au Prince, Haiti, where Captain Gladden has been transferred for duty. Mrs. Gladden traveled in a chic win ter dress of navy blue tricolette bead ed in blue with gloves and boots to watch. - She wore a brown fur coat and a close fitting hat, one of the newe;.t models of velour plush with a gold ornament. Snowy white hisbiscius formed her corsage bouquet. Among the out-of-town guests at tending 'were Robert S. Gladden, of New Orleans, brother of the groom. Captain Gladden is the son of Pro fessor Thomas Gladden, of St. John's Military Academy, Annapolis and is the s brother of Bailey Gladden, U. S. N., in the submarine service. He :r has. been stationed , at the Pensacola Xaval Air Station for the past several months and during that time has made many warm friends in civilian life as well as in the service Mrs. Gladden 19 "the only" daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Pollock and Is an un usually attractive young girl of sweet, winning personality and great strength of character.
