David Powell, the screen actor who Is featured In "Teeth of the Tiger," the Paramount-Artcraft picture on view at the Isis theatre tomorrow has high hopes that the film will vindicate him in the eyes of a certain small boy in a mid-western village. As the boy goes, the boy chanced to be visiting the city where ' Powell was making pictures. Meeting, the youngster out side the studio one day, something about his eager eyes attracted the ac tor, and they were soon deep in con versation. The result was that Powell became the boy's hero, and the little movie fan watched eagerly for a pic ture to come to his town featuring his idol. But alas! the one that came showTed Powell as a "lounge lizard" in one of those society pictures, and the boy's illusions were shattered. As he regretfully wrote to Powell at the address the actor furnished him: "You didn't even carry a gun or kill anybody." In "Teeth of the Tiger," Powell, as Arsene Lupin, shoots a couple of knaves and ruins a bombing party by holding the conspirators up with a gun and is altogether the ideal of any red-blooded youngster's dream, lie has written his protege to keep a sharp lookout for this picture and is hoping It will reinstate him as the boy's hero-in-chief. "A Cowboy, A Serpent and The Dove," i for the first three days of the week and by special request of the majority of the large audience, "East Lynne" for the last half. Both of these plays are well known and are always con sidered real stock productions. "A Cowboy, A Serpent and The Dove" is another sensational comedy, and give3 the various members of the cast an opportunity of showing their ability as dramatic artists as this play has many tense situations, thrilling cli maxes and plenty of good comedy. The vaudeville between acts will be entirely new, and the musical program by the orchestra has been already ar ranged, to fit this one particular pro duction. . "Luck in Pawn" is New Picture With Marguerite Clark, Another Broadway stage play has been converted into a screen vehicle for Marguerite Clark. Following her recent success in "Widow by Proxy," also a former stage comedy, she is being presented in "Luck in Pawn," Marvin Taylor's light dramatic suc cess, and will be seen at tlje Isis thea tre today. The picture is described as a comedy of the type that Miss Clark has al ways succeeded in making extremely entertaining and sparkling on the screen. It concerns the fortunes of a of a little country girl who aspires to be an artist and seeks the advice of a noted painter as to the merits of her work, only to be told that her talents along artistic lines are extremely limited. However, her charms attract a young rich idler, who sees in her a welcome relief from the sophisticated women of his acquaintance in constant pursuit of him for his wealth. He establishes her in a fashionable hotel as his guest, concealing her Identity from his mother Despite exposure by a match-making dowager and other complications, the affair turns out happily. Charles Mere dith heads a capable supporting- cast, and the picture was directed by Walter Edwards. BAD BRONCHIAL COUGH FOR 36 YEARS Ed C. Nutt Tent Show.
