There will be no more pictures in ;
this column after today, as the space
will be taken up with more smiles, j
This progressive list of folks have
been added to the feature, so see ifj
this is a picture of one of them. They
are R. P. Parish, C. G. Rook, P. E.
Schilling, C. A. Pitchford, C. R. ;
Moore, J. H. Pettey, J. M. Olive, J. I.
Lundy, H. S. McClesky.
It doesn't hurt to tell the truth in
this column once in a while. Harry
Kitchell, proprietor of the Delta Ma
chine Works, is just as proud of a
pair of new silk socks as a young lady
is of a pair of new silk stockings.
A beggar approached Guy Trotter
the splendid proprietor of the Trotter
Cotton Company, in front of the Irv
ing hotel, last week and said: "Say,
fellow, give me 50 cents for a night's !
lodging." "Nothing doing," said Trot
ter. "Aw, you wori t see me walk
the streets all night, will you?"
Certainly not, I'm going to bed
shortly, said Trotter, in his usual tone
of laughter.

clever wife from the story we picked

Often he returned home late—so
late that when his wife asked the
time he'd murmur:
dear!' or "just after midnight, pet!"
But one evening, or rather morning,
she said, instead «f the usual request:
Mitchell, dear, I wish you'd stop
that clock its ticking worries me."
