I Eliisville, Miss., Octobc*- 26.—It is i stated here that the mill of the Ellis ' ville Lumber Company, ' Saturday morning, burned last, vill be rebuilt on the same site, and that the new mill 1 will be larger and better in every re ! spect than the old one. The com- 1 = sssssssrA in this ir-ritoi I j j ALL m THE Watkins Machine and Foundry Works Practically Build New Cars For Northeaster* Hattiesburg has practically a car manufacturing plant in the Watkins Machine and Foundry Company, which has the contract for repairing cars for the Northeastern. This plant is now turning number of cars for the Northeastern i luii are to all appearances, and al most in fact new cars, and each bears the inscription: "Repaired by the Watkins Machine and Foundry Company, Hattiesburg, Miss." A string of the "new" cars, lacking only the finishing touches, can be seen in the yards of the Watkins plant now, and they present the appearance of having been built from the wheels as in fact some of them were. In addition to this, the Watkins plant is repairing and practically building locomotives for a number of lumber roads of this district. One of the latest loeoinotives to come to the works for rebuilding being one just r< coived from the Mclnnis Lumber Company, Hickory. out a car up, re CIVIL TERM Circuit Court Gets Down to Bus iness With Biggest Docket In Its History. The civil term of the circuit of Forrest county convened in the court house this morning. Beyond the impaneling of the two petit juries very little was done in the forenoon, but it was expected to take up the docket this afternoon, there be ing a large number of cases set for today. Most of these cases will be reset for hearing at some date during the term. Only civil cases will be tried at the present term of court which will last two weeks. Two petit juries have been impaneled, but there will be no grand jury until the criminal term, which begins two weeks from today. This will give District Attorney Me kaurin a breathing spell, but Judge Cook will have to continue his work in this city for a total of five weeks, the three weeks criminal term, following the civil term. RUSSIA IS TOO HASTY London, October 26.—The invasion of Northern Persia by Russian Cos sacks is believed by the British for eign office to foreshadow the perma nent occupancy of that part of the Arabian provinces by the czar and to be a serious menace to present Jilans for restoring peace in the Bal kans.
