'■ ■ Proceeds Given for the Benefit cf The Young Men’s Christian Associa- j tion. On Friday evening last a largo crowd of citizens from town and vicinity assembled at the luka Normal Institute hall in response to a previous announce’ ment that the Classic and Scientific classes of the > ormal were to give an entertainment there that evening. By the time it was dark it appeared as thorgh it would be impossib’e to seat the congregation, which was theu yery large and increasing at quite a lapid rate; however, -by the addition of several dozen extra chairs which were held in readiness for the occasion, ail 5 were comfortably seated and looking f forward with greatest anxiety to the s. ring of the curtain ball by a little after seven o’clock. Everything being made ready f«r commencement, tno performances 2 opened at 7:30 with music on piano, 1 yiolins and guitar.
