Pearson News Mrs. Georgia Taylor, Agent The Mt. Elem Sunday school opened on time with Bro. Will Shoto in charge. A Spiritual Devotion was held with Miss Joeann Batts at the piano and prayed offered by Supt. Shoto. Each class was well taught and one visitors was present. The School was reviewed by the Asst. Pastor, Rev. E. D. Terrell and was enjoyed by all. Sunday, May 11, Georgia Taylor and Mrs. Ruby Terrell n ci c iu 111c Huuiau a Institute which was held at the Pearlie Grove M. B. Church. Along with these delegates were Mrs. Georgia Hayes of Jackson, Mrs. Leona Terrell and Mrs. Lettie Duckworth. The Institute was most bene ficial, w ith S. S. opening at * 10: A. M., Mr. E. D. McGee, Supt., in charge. The women's class was taught by Mrs. L. E. Taylor. Offering raised in the Sunday School was $5.55. Fol lowing a recess of 10 minutes, the body returned and Devo tion was led by the Pearlie Grove delegate, Mrs. Ida Da vis who prayed a soul-stirring prayer. During the business session, the President, Sis. R. N. Connon, presided and brought a short but interesting message on the subject, “The Lord Helping.” Response was brought by the Vice President, Mrs. Louteney Aimsworth. This was followed by re marks by Mrs. L. J. Thomp son. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Green and Mrs. M. L. Jenkins, the councelor came and brought timely and helpful remarks, asking that those present get more love in their hearts. The Bible Class was taught by Mrs. A. J. Car ter on the subject, “When and How to Speak. The offering amounted to $10.37 was raised. Money raised for the sick a mounted to $9.02. Travis on the subject, “Trusting in God. At this time a collection of $50.16 was raised. At 2:30 Lunch was serv ed. The body reassembled and devotion was led by Mrs. Don nie Foster, Mrs. Georgia Tay lor, Mrs. McTressell. The Young Peoples Program was in charge of Mrs. Eunice Thompson who also taught the lesson from Mark 7:37. The program was wonderfully en joyed by all the young people. Collection raised was $18.25.
