MRS. CATHERINE JACOB
of St. Louis, Mo., spent sev
eral days in the home of her
mother, Mrs. Pearlie Jacob of
this city. Mrs. Jacob's daugh
ter left Tuesday for home
where she will join her hus
band and assume her work
as a registered nurse in the
St. Phillip Hospital.
STANLEY DEALERS HOLD
MEETING. On Monday even
ing the Stanley Dealers met
in the lovely and spacious
home of Mrs. Birdia Johnson.
The meeting was called to or
der by Naomi Ferrell Hendrex.
Short devotion was led by Mrs.
E. B. Ingram. The business
period was brief, but very in
teresting. Plans were comple
ted for a Hostess Christmas
party to be given in the near
future. Remarks were given
by Mrs. Carrie Benson. At the
close of the meeting the hos
tess served tasty refreshments
to each dealer.
The next meeting is in the
home of Mrs. Naomi F. Hen
drex.
ON MONDAY evening the
Ushers of College Hill church
enjoyed their Annual Christ
mas Party with members and
guests. The scene of this af
fair was at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Minor Jagars. Gifts
were exchanged and a tasty
menu of baked chicken and
dressing was served.
SUN RISE SERVICE. You
and your friends are cordially
invited to attend a Sunrise
Service at the College Hill on
Christmas morning in the au
ditorium of the church. Come
and bring a friend.
ATTEND MASONS’ GRAND
LODGE. Visifing in the capitol
city to attend the Grand
Lodge of Masons were Mr. Gil
bert Conner, Mr. W. I. Pruitt
of Ellisville, Miss, and Rev.
J. C. Crawford, Mr. D. V. Vir
gue and Mr. Howard Ivy of
Columbia, Mississippi. These
gentlemen reported a most en
joyable visit in the city among
friends.

meeting in March was presen
ted to the board. With the
close of the meeting a word of
prayer was said by Mrs. G. L.
Bridges of Shfclby, Mississippi.

OF WEST JACKSON
GIVES TO ‘HOME’
The West Jackson Christian
Bible Class met last week in
the home of Mrs. Lillen Wat
son, 631 Poindexter Street,
with the devotion being led
by Mrs. Fannie Lloyd.
The scripture was read by
| Mrs. Kizzie Christmas. A
short topic was brought by
Mr. Spann, followed by a pro
gram to raise funds for the
Convalencent ’home which
was conducted by Mrs. Spann.
The sum of $25 was raised.
The members offered
thanks to the Rev. J. Lipsy !
and his family who are here
visiting from Grand Rapids,
Mich., for their free will of
fering. *
