Mountain Ridge News . On September 23, the Kane Hill Sunday School opened on time with the Supt. Bro Book er Hardy, in charge and the Adult Class being taught by the Pastor, Rev. B. D. Davis. The Junior Class was taught by Mrs. S. J. Mayers; the Primary class was taught by Mr. L. J. Hardy. Collection was $2.00. Little Clara B. Hardy was a visitor. Everyone enjoyed the fine Service at the Kone Hill Bap tist Church, Sunday with Mr. L. J. Hardy at the Piano. Rev. B. D. Davis delivered a soul-stirring message on the subject, “Love”, admonishing all present to “love their neighbors as thy self”. Baptism services at Hardy’s Pond Sunday were reported to • be a fine service. 6 new mem bers were added to the Kone Hill Baptist Church, Rev. Da vis, Pastor. Rev. N. L. Bender and Mrs. Mae Bell King visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Hardy, recently. Rev. Bender also visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hardy. Rev. and Mrs. Ellis Scott and Mr. Frank Hardy went to Leland, Miss., to visit Rev. Louis Scott, who is there with his daughter. They found him very much improved, much to the pleasure of friends in me mi. mage uommunuy, who are praying for his con tinued recovery. Members and Friends are happy to know that Mrs. Irene Batt is doing much better. Friends pray for her speedy recovery. Mrs. Ina Marshall visited in the home of her sister, Mrs. Oscar King on Sunday, where she also attended services at Kone Hill. A Shower will be given at • Kone Hill Church, Oct. 7, at 4 P.M. for Mr. and Mrs. Sam my T. Gipson. Everyone is invited to come and bring a gift. Mrs. Gipson will be re membered as Miss Lela Myr tle Mayers, daughter of Mrs. Mandy Mayers. Mrs. Magnolia Jones visited in the home of her sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Alexander, Sunday evening. Mrs. Irene Hill of Jackson visited her sister, Mrs. Ber tha Lock on Sunday evening. Some of the members Hum me mi. niuge commun ity attended the Services at Taylorsville Church last week. Rev. Mac Miller was the Evangelist. He preached a soul-stirring sermon. Rev. Ba ker is the pastor. Miss Harvey Lee Collier sponsored a party last Satur daynight in their home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Sonny Boy) Collier. Those present report ed an enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. Thomason visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglass Kersh. She is the daughter of Mr. D. Kersh and is a teacher at Clarks dale, Miss. Those on the Sick List: Mr. Ed Jones, Rev. Louis Scott, Mrs. Irene H. Bott, Mr. Wil lie D. Kersh. Prayer is offer ed for his speedy recovery. Mrs. Myrtle Jones and chil Pearson News Mrs. Georgia Taylor Sunday, Sept. 23, Sunday School opened on time at Mt. Elem Baptist Church, with Mr. Will Shoto, Supt., in charge and Mrs. Leonia Ter rell at the piano. Prayer was offered by Mr. Shoto and 8 teachers were present. Two visitors, Mr. Steen and Rev. Bradley were among the visi tors. The lesson was reviewed by Rev. R. L. T. Smith, pas tor, with timely remarks by Rev. Stamps. Money raised was Sunday was pastoral day and the services opened with de votion led by Bro. Shoto, Bro. L. E. Johnson and Bro. John Bryant, with prayer offered $y Rev. W. C. Summers. Beautiful music was rendered by the young people’s choir. Rev. Smith preached as never be fore. Money raised was $110.30. Rev. E. D. Terrell is assistant pastor, Mr. Will Shoto, Clerk. Sunday, Sept. 30, the Sun dren and Mrs. Ardella Hardy visited Mr. and Mrs B. L. Hardy. Miss Fannie Hardy visited her home this past weekend. The Junior Choir of Mt Elem has been invited to Oak Grove M. B. Church on Sep tember 30 at 2: P. M. Mrs Elnora Dobson, Director, Mrs Sarah Phillips, Choirstor, Mrs. Georgia Taylor, pianist and Mrs. Leonie Terrell, advisor. All choir members are asked to be at rehearsal, Saturday. Miss Joe Ann Batt was happy to visit her relatives in Chicago. She left here on September 2nd and returned September 23. She is the daughter of Mrs. Mineola Batts. She reported a most enjoyable time. Mr. Fred Taylor was happy to have Mr. and Mrs. A, B. Terrell visit in their home re cently, and Mrs. Taylor was very sorry to hear that Mrs. Donnie Foster is in the Uni versity Hospital in Jackson. , / Marks News Sunday School was opened ®t its regular hour with a very fine spiritual devotion, the committee in charge, and Mrs. Louvenia Polk, acting Supt. The lesson was review ed by Bro. Ezra Tourner. At 11 A.M. Regular Worship Ser vices begun with the officers in charge, Bro. E. Smith of fered prayer. All choirs were at their best, singing beauti ful and spiritual songs. Guest minister, presented by our pastor, was his son, Rev. R. o. oayaen who gave a won derful message. Guest Reviv alist at the church last week was Rev. W. L. Terrell, who each night, brought soul-stir ring messages. Two boys were baptized Sunday after the closing of the regular servi ces. Rev. Terrell is a great min ister. 6 P.M. the Baptist Training union met with Mrs. C. D. Jossell in charge. The service was most inspiring. At 7:30 P.M., The Junior and Juvenile Choirs present ed a lovely program for the Baptist Training Union intit led, “Foot-print of Jesus” and a contest. Everyone enjoyed this program. Money raised was $91.62 and Miss Bessie Russell was the winner of the contest by raising $27.25. Mrs. C. D. Jossell, Sponsor.
