Regular service was held at
Mt. Charity M. B. Church this
past Sunday. The Devotion
was spiirtual with the senior
deacons in charge. Bro. Joe
Banks served in the place of
the late Bro. Willie Shelton at
the Poor Saints Table; Bro.
Shelby Slaughter has been as
signed to serve at that par
ticular office, beginning on
the third Sunday in October.
Pastor Luckett, members and
visitors welcomed the Rev.
Henderson who delivered the
sermon for the day. Rev. Hen
derson who comes from Mem
phis, Tenn., preached from St.
John 3:3, using for his sub
ject, ‘‘The New Birth”. The
Senior Chorus sang until
hearts rejoiced. This fine choir
is directed by Miss Mamie
Washington who is also presi
dent. Mrs. Gurline Moore is
musician.
There will be a Musical
Rally at the White Oak Bap
tist Church on Sunday night,
October 13, at 7:30. Various
groups are taking part in this
program. Sponsors are: Mrs.
