Now that summer visiting is
over and on account of so popu
lar a hostess quite a number, at
tended the monthly meeting of
the Okolona Chapter U! D, C,
September 1st.
After the usual order of serv
ices were held several booklets
were presented by the president.
One a year book containing
monthly programs, which we
feel will be quite interesting if
executed as planned. Another,
an appeal for the correct render
ing of Southern history. This we
also feel the need of as we have
been, in many instances, mis
represented. These books will
be circulated from house to
house for a careful discision from
each member as to whether or
not we will adopt them. We
hope the small price will not de
prive any of making a favorable

The Beulah Holder Missionary
Society was delightfully enter
tained Monday afternoon tfy Mrs.
Henry Glidewell. In the absence
of the president the meeting
was conducted Aunt Laura.
Scripture lesson, Isaiah 51-8 and
Psalm 37-10. Mrs. Herndon read
an interesting paper on "The
Least of These."
Collection was taken up by
little Mary Virginia Herndon
and Christine Glidewell.
After partaking of the fine re
freshments so bountifully served
we adjourned to meet on the 1st
Monday in October with Mrs. C.
L. McWilliams.
It is a great pleasure to meet
with these wide-awake young
women who have done and are
still doing such fine work. ,
Woman's Missionary Society
The Woman's Missionary So
ciety of the Methodist church
met w'ith-Mrs. W. E. Bearden on
the first Monday in September.
Some of the members were de
prived of the pleasure of attend
ing. It seemed quite natural
and pleasant to be back in our
accustomed places, we believe
with renewed energy and enthu
siasm both spiritually and phy
sically to prayerfully do our ut
most in the "One to win one"
campaign, which is now on hand
and ought always to be on hand,
