' The building of about 300 feet of bridging on north side of iron bridge across Tallahatchie river on the Ox ’ford and Memphis road in Beat 3, and the building of about 170 feet of bridg ing on the south side of said above mentioned iron bridge, including one head-wall for each of the two bridges. All said work to be done according to plans and specifications now on file in the chancery clerk’s office. The undersigned will also receive sealed bids, as above stated, for the furnishing of 40-tons of coal for the court house and jail, also One road machine with 8-foot blade, for the road districts of Supervisor’s District No. 5 of said county. KILLED WITH BALL BAT Woman Alleged to Have Struck Man Battling Husband. Huntsville, May 80.—Sam Neely, a farmer, was killed Sunday by Jim Tucker and his wife, Winnie, j at the Tucker home near Ryland, in a, fight after a party in which wildcat: liquor was the beverage. Neely was | knocked over the head with a baseball bat and his skull was crushed. Tucker and his wife were arrested, j Witnesses declare that the blow was struck by Mrs. Tucker when Tucker, and Neely clinched and fell to the floor with Neely on top. SIXTY-ONE VATS DESTROYED j Modi Ceremony Held by Smith Coun ty Dytaamiters. Jackson, Miss., May 30.—Dr. H. Chadwick, chief inspector of the state live stock sanitary board, announces that in Smith county alone 64 cattle dipping vats have been destroyed this spring. The inspector’s report con tains interesting details of methods pursued by the dynamiters. Memphis, Term., May 30.—“Com likker,” backed up with an order for Irish stew, proved fatal Monday after-; noon to A. E. Kelly, 42, logger, who j toppled over dead in Joe’s cafe, Sec ond and Beale, at 12:45 p. m., just af ter he had ordered a plate of the de licacy.
