Another Laree Fire Thursday Mornln; Lays Waste Three Houses In the Northern Part of Town. The Work of an Incendiary. Last Wetlnestlay morning, at about 3 o'clock, the watchman at the canning tactory ut this place discoverel the premises to be on fire, and promptly gave the alarm. The br originated in tbe roof of the engine -room, from which it communicated to the stoiehouse and ofliev, destroying tbe tbree buildi igs. Iu the storeroom were packed a large lot of empty cans, which were also destroyed. It was only by superhuman enorts tliat the main building was saved. While it is the opinion' of a great many that the tire was the work of au incendiary, as there had bcu uo Die about the building for sev eral mouths, there are others who niaiutaiu- that it probably origina ted from a spark froui tbe ice fac tory, which was running at the time. Tbe latter thcoiy, however, is very improbable, as tbe distance between the buildings was so far. Another suspicious circumstance is that the watchman says when he discovered the fire, and before he gave the alarm, a man jumped trom the engine room and disappeared iu the daikuess. The watchman was unable to discover whether the man w as white or colored. The estimated loss on buildings, uia chiuery aud cans is about 11000, with some insurance, tbe amount of which we could not leuru. Scarcely bad the ashes of the cunning f.ictoiy cooled whi n on Thursday morning ut tbout 4 o'clock the large storehouse lately oceup'cd by Geo. W.Wilkes &Co. was discovered to be on fire. Tlie flames were first seen bursting fiom the roof of the rear portion of the building, and the material of the structure being light aud dry the fire spread w ith great rapidity and soon communicated to the building on the south, owned by It. Bousset, aud occupied by Jos. F. Bourges as a meat market, and the one on the north occupied by John II. Turner as a residence and shoe-shop.
