The press and material of the liiloxi Blizzard, which has had a fitful existence in this city for several months past and which was conducted by Louis Itosen thai, was attached last night for a debt of $370 due of the 400 purcha e money. The attachment was sued out by Hon. W. H. Maybln, attorney for E. Glen nan & Clias. Redding, who sold the property to Rosenthal last May, taking his notes inpayment therefor, secured, as they claim, bv'a verbal contract that the titles should not pass from the vendor untllthe en tire indebtedness had been paid. Last Thursday, for and in consideration of $100 and services, Rosenthal trans ferred to A. M. Dahlgren, collector of this port, one-half interest In the press and material of the Blizzard without the knowledge or consent of either Wleniian or Ueddinif. and when accused of having done so, denied it; uence tne attachment. The press and material is now In the custody of the officers. , John O. Williams, a printer, start ed the publication of a newspaper In Jackson county not long since and after running it about six weeks, Mr. Williams absconded. Probably he was in debt to printers and for board. When Mr. Williams l.-lt, The Dk.mo- chat-otau, published at Scranton In same county, stated in a local that lie had folded his tent and gone west to grow up with the country; that his career there was short, but brilliant, so to speak. For this item of local news. Mr. Williams lias brought suit against The Dhmochat-Star for$10, 000 damages. The editor of the Dkmo-ckat-Stak thinks and expects to prove that the suit was instituted at the Instigation of some bitter enemy of his merely for the purpose of har assing and annoying hi in. Perhaps the same enemy persuaded Williams to start the paper for the purposo of breaking the editor of the Demockat-Staii down, hut the Dem-ockat-Star was too firmly establish ed o be shaken.
