Pardon Hoard, We the undersigned citizens and officers of Neshoba County hereby petition your honorable body to grant a pardon to Jodie Jimerson, colored, a convict, now working out a sentence on the public roads of ne shoba county and as grounds for the petition submit the following facts to wit: Jodie Jimerson colored was tried at tbe February 1916 term of the. circuit Court of Neshoba County on a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill amt murder one John Rodgers and convicted and sentenced to pay a tine of S2OO and serve a sen tence of one year on the county roads The said Jodie Jimerson was un able to employ counsel to make his defeueo for him. We believe that he has been suffi ciently punished for the olfenso even tho be may have been guilty as charged which is very doubtful. We are informed by the convict guard ttiat the said Jodie Jimerson cap tured other prisioners in the spring and prevented tin m from making their escape.
