Gill. The Childrens’ Day exercises at tbi Baptist Church Sunday was a great success. The chil dren knew their pieces well and delivered them nicely. The house was full aud all seemed to enjoyed the program. The ladies who trained the children deserve sincere congratulation, and we also wish to say amen for the last “little boy" who spoke. His piece was instructive as well as entertaining. Yes, Brother Phil lips gave us a true talk aud we enjoyed it much. The day was well spent and we hope that the Method si Church will soon give us a similar treat. Miss E.hel Dodds and her mother left Tu-sday for their old home in Crider Ky. They were here only a short- time but left many friends who will be glad to have them come again, Mr J, X Hall, County Survey or, was in Sturges last Monday on official business. Mr. Hall is a Sturges boy and his community should feel proud of him. He be longs to that self made class and secured his education under the most adverse circumstances. He is young and fresh from college, full of life and information, and is thoroughly prepared to be of great service to his people. Such men always come to the front.
