Boyd and other relatives and friends in Como. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hamilton and baby son left last week for Grenada to permanently reside. Mayor G. W. Rayburn left last Thursday for a few days’ business trip to Shaw. Miss Fannie Sinclair, of Oxford, is iu the city for a several days’ visit to Mrs. S. E. Baddley. Messrs. E. li. Rogers, J. W. Mauldin, VV. C. Vaughn and Leon Hirsch.were visitors to Memphis last week. Teachers' Examination. The examination held for colored teachers, Sept. 9th and 10th, hav ing been declared void by State Superintendent Powers, it be comes necessary to hold another, which will be held in Water Val ley on October 21st aud 22nd for both White and colored teachers. LRY, Supt. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Reeves and little son, Master George, of Duck Hill, were in the city last Wednes day to attend the funeral of their little nephew, Bates Everette, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. 8. Whitley. Mrs. J. T. Morrison and daugh ter, Miss Lucy May, of Oxford, returned home last Thursday after a few days’ visit to our city the guests of Mrs Dixie Davis. Miss Annie Laura Whitson left last Friday for a few days’ visit to her sister, Miss Grace, who is attending the State University. Mesdames G. W. Hadaway and Thomas Tucker and baby daugh ter returned home last Thursday from a couple of weeks' visit to relatives in Louisville, Ky. Miss Vivian Flake left Friday mi rning for Durant to be at tie bedside of her sister, Mrs. E, T. Heywood, who, her many friends in our city regret to learn, is very in.
