THURSDAY, SEPT. 20, 1917 The Bdnks, We caii your attention to the Financial Statements of the three Banks of our city made to the Board of Bank Examiners at the close of business on the lltb day of September, 1917, whioh appears in this issue of The Jtemizer, Each of these splendid banking institutions are being managed strictly according to the best busi ness principles The figures give a highly crediiable showing, and the officers and stockholders are to be congratulated upon the pros perous condition of their respective banks, Mrs. 0, S. Bass, on her way to her home in McKinney, Texas, after spending the summer with relatives and friends in Missis sippi, stopped over and spent a day or two in our city last week the guest of Mrs. J. E. Hobson. Mrs. H. A. Little and two.chil dren, of Greenwood, spent several days of last week the gueets of friends in our city Mrs, J, V. Blackmur and son, Mr. Edwin Blackmur, are home from a several weeks’ stay in Chicago. Mr. Turney Hubbard left this morning to attend a session of the A. & M College at Starkville. All members of the North Main Street M. E. Church are requested to be present next Sunday night, Sept. 2drd, 1917, as there is busi ness of importance to be transacted. All are invited to attend this serv ice, and the members are especial ly urged to be present. Mr. unci Mra J R. MoLarty and their guest, Miss Mary Louise Hinton, of Memphis, were visitors to Jaokson last Sunday, Mr. Albert Carlson and two sons Musters Andrew and Milton, left Tuesday for a several days’ visit to friends in Chicago. Mr. Rufus Robiuson and son, Master Voris, returned to their home in Santa Anna, Calif., last week after a month’s visit to rela tives and friends at Orrwood. Mrs. Vernon Gore is homa from a several days’ visit to Jackson. Oo , aud popular with our people, and Miss Quay Branton, a pretty and at tractive young lady of Burdette, were united in marriage in the Idlewild Presbyterian church par sonage in Memphis last Sunday. Mr and Mrs. Blount arrived in the city Monday to reside. The ltemizer joins their friends in congratulations and best wishes. Mrs. 0. T. Robinson and three children spent several days of last week with relatives at Tillatoba. Cakes for Batterv A. Every lady in Water Valley who is interested will please give her name for one cake each month to be sent to Batter A at Camp -lack son.
