I Five thousand local base ball enthusi asts witnessed the home team defeat the Bisons at West Side Park yesterday af ternoon and thereby win a proud old pos ition of first place in the race for the pen nant. It was a pitcher’s battle and hon ors were even between McCann and Mc Gee. The only run in the entire game was scored by Bean in a force hit, a stolen base, an error and Halligan’s two bagger.
