PAULUS HOOK DAY Chief Murphy Issues Orders to the -Police for the i Parade LUE TO FORM OX THE HILL Inspector Archibald Will Be in Command — Mounted Squad to Lead. Chief of Police Murphy has issued the following order to the men of the depart ment who are to participate in Saturday’s parade in connection with the unveiling of the shaft at Washington and Grand streets to commemorate the battle of Pa ulus Hook:— T Tk'Orders No. 45. ' ■‘On Saturday next, 21st inst., a monu ment to commemorate the Battle of Paul us Hook will be erected at the center of the intersection of Grand and Washing ton . streets. The Honorable Board of Police Com missioners have directed that a battalion of police be detailed to take part in the parade on this occasion. Captain Cummings, with a proper de tail, will take care of the matters at the Jersey City Club during the forming of the parade and' when the parade moves off he will put his men in wagons and re port with them to the Chief at monument, y Captain John Cody and Captain John Aelly, with a detail to be made later, win) report to the Chief at the,monument at & P. M. Captain Cody will send a sergeant and proper detail to Elks’ Hall at 2.15\ o’clock with instructions to see that only those holding tickets for that purpose will be admitted to the reserved part of tne hall. The mounted squad will proceed the parade. Mounted Policemen Donohue and Lynch will report to the foot of York street at 12.45 P. M„ to escort the regular troops to Hudson street to Mon mouth street to Grand street and place of formation of parade, after which these men will report to their squad for escort duty.
