A strike has been again ordered upbn tho lines of tho Union Traction Co. by the Amal gamated Association of Street Railway Employes, to- go Into effect at four o'clock Thursday morning. After, the refusal of tho president to submit tho questions to 'arbitration tho central committee of tho association held t meeting Wednesday evening. The re sult of the deliberations was the or dering of tho strike. Tho committeo considered that tho refusal of Mr. Walsh to arbitrate settled any show by peaceable methods any adjustments of tho grievances of tho men and they now proposo to fight for what was rof used them. The committee claims that a majority of tho six thousand men on the company's system will obey tho or der to quit, and that all tho lines will be tied up. With a lively recollection of disorders attending the strike last December, tho police are making overy preparation to guard the company's property and to provent violence. No disorder was reported Tuesday morning, and cars are running regu larly on all the lines There is no out ward appearance that a strike is in progrcsss. Pullman, was married Wed nesday nighty to Frank Orren Lowdcn, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Lowdcn, of Hubbard, la., at the Prairie avenue mansion of the bride's parents. James Pullman, of Lynn, Mass., assisted by Rev. Royal S. Pull man, of Baltimore, both Ancles of tho bride. The bridal party passed through an improvised aisle of white and gold en amelled posts wound in myrtle sur rounded by wreaths of lillies of tho alley and mognotte, and tied with white satin ribbons from post to post, extending the length of the building. The whole house was profusely decor ated with orchids, roses and palms. The bride, a stately bru nette, beautiful and accomplished, was attended by her sister, Miss Felicite Oglesby, daughter of ex-Gov. Oglesby; Miss Florence Alger, daughter of ex Gov. Alger; Miss Bertha West of New York. Mr. Lovyden's best man was Henry L. Dawes, of Pittsfield, Mass. A reception to 2,000 guests and a sup per followed. Tho bridegroom is a lawyer of this city. Congressman Patterson Indorsed. Memphis, Tenn., April 30. Congress man Josiah Patterson received a strong indorsement from tho democratic con vention of this, his homo county, Wed nesday. President Cleveland and Sec retary Carlisle wore" also indo'rsed. It was not a congressional cpnvention.
