Dear. Sirs: For the past ten years I
was troubled with my stomach. About
4 years ago was taken down with rheu
matism; was not able to do a day's
work for 3 years. All medicine seemed
of no benefit to me. A year ago I was
advised to take Dr. Caldwell's Syrup
Pep3ln. I truly believe I would have
died but for this medicine. My rheu
matism Is entirely gone and my stom

my life and I cannot recomend it too
highly.

Last Sunday was a big day at the
Spirry oil well. The B. Z. & C. R. R.
ran two excursion trains here to see tho
gusher. There were eleven coaches
filled to overflowing besides there wer4
a great many people from the surround
Ing country who came In buggies,
surries, on horseback, on bicycles and
on foot. The crowd was estimated at
from 800 to 1000 people. After the
trains had arrived the well was opened
and allowed to flow up in the rig. This
was a fine sight to those who never saw
a flowing well. The picture men were
one hand with their cameras ready to
take a snap shot at everything worth
viewing.
U. G. Decker commenced spudding
on his big well on the Henry Dillon
farm near the big gusher. He will give
his men a premium of $25 each if they
put the well down In twelve days.
Watch the result
Tho land between the Spirry well and
the George Reed farm at the head of
the Muskingum Valley a distance of
six miles is under lease with few ex'
ceptlons.
The R. Clegg well drilled by Long
fellow is dry in the sands but a gool
gasser. They have tubed the well and
will use the gas In the 'field.
The Shawmut Oil company is drilling
at their Ludwig No. 2. The same com
pany are rigging up their Burkhart
No. 1.
The Carter OH Company have made a
location on the John A. Burkhart farm
near Burkhart Station!
WAY FIELD.
There have been two rigs brought
from Graysvllle to tho Whltacre oil
field and some more to come. This
looks as though we may have quite a
little field here.
The same company have the rig up
for No. 4 on the Whltacre Heirs and
are waiting on tho drillers. They also
have No. B on tho same farm located.
Tho Associated Producers Intend
drilling their No. 4 on the Whltacre
Heirs at once. This farm Is looking
better than it did a year ago.
The Traders Oil Company's E. J. Hall
Is drilling at a depth of 1200 feet. They
will reach 'the sand the first of tha
week with no bad luck.
EDWINA FIELD.
Galey's Baker No. 4 Is good for
about six or eight barrols. The oil field
is dull Here. About all that is doing
Is flie pumping. If the Baker well "lad
been a u'etter well, It would have
caused more wells to have been drilled
but it looks now as if there was not go
ing to be much drilling done hero for
some time.
Tho Standard Dll Company is laying
a four-inch line from Henry Dougher
ty's to Lewlsvllle. Tho line they had
to Lewlsvllle was too small to carry all
the oil from tho Decker and Spirry well,
