Thursday, April 18, 1946 Cambridge Girl Is Bride of Charles Moore Announcement is being made of the marriage of Miss Mildred Lewis daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett of Cambridge, and Charles Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Moore of Belford street, Caldwell, which was an event of Saturday, April 13, at 4 p. m. in the First Church of Christ, with Rev. David Doan of ficiating for the double ring cere mony. “Day by Day” a favorite selection of the bride and groom, was played softly by Mrs. Paul McVay, through out the ceremony. The bride selected a gray suit with accessories of poudre blue, and wore a corsage of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Congleton of North street were the only attendants. Mrs. Con gleton wore a street length dress of green and her corsage was gardenias Others who were present at the cere mony were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Moore, Miss Bonnie Lewis, sister of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Bauer brother-in-law and sister7of the bridegroom. The new Mrs. Moore is a grad uate of the and has been bridge Glass Cambride high school, employed at the Cam Company. is a graduate of the Mr. Moore Caldwell high school and a veteran of World War II. He served four years, two of which were spent in the ETO. Following a short wedding trip, the happy couple will reside in Caldweil. Housewarming Friends and neighbors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Lawrence of Caldwell R. D. 3, re cently for a housewarming. Their marriage vow’s will be exchanged May 4 at 9:30 o’clock in the1 St. Nicholas’ Catholic church, Zanesville, with the Rev. Father Joseph Bender, officiating. Bates-Feldner Announcement is being made of the marriage of Betty Feldner of Caldwell to Denver Bates, Prospect Ave., Zanesville. The wedding was an event of April 13. The services were performed in the Church of Christ parsonage at Floral Park, with Rev Charles H. Hendershot officiating. The couple was at tended by Rev. and Mrs. Angus, also Mrs. Hendershot. A single ring cere mony was used. The bride was attired in a black and white taffeta street length dress with black accessories. To her shoul der was pinned a corsage of gar denias. Mrs. Bates is the daughter of Mr. and "Mrs. Henry Feldner of near Caldwell. She was employed by the Fleeman filling station at Caldwell. Mr. Bates is the son of Mrs. Ocy Parrish, Prospect Ave. He has re cently been discharged from service having served three years with the army. He is unemployed at present. A reception was held at the Par rish residence following the cere mony. Members of the family and close friends were present. A wedding dinner was given Sun day, consisting of a course chicken dinner. A wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom formed the center decoration, and the table was beautifully decorated. Mr. and Mrs. Bates will make their home with the bridegroom’s mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Parrish. Moore-Dyer Announcement is being made of the marriage of Mrs. Blanche Moore, Ava, and Alonzo Dyer, Kenton. Their marriage was an event of April 7, and solemnized at the parsonage of th? Baptist minister, Rev. Mr. McAlister, Greenup, Kentucky. Groves, Salesville, announce the marriage of their daughter, Bernice Roberta, to Woodrow Weaver of Gibson. The wedding took place April 2 in Cov ington, Ky., with Rev. H. M. Massie of the Methodist curch performing the single ring ceremony. The bride was attired in an aqua blue suit with accessories of black. Her shoulder corsage was of red roses. Mrs. Weaver is a graduate of the Batesville high school and was sta tioned a number of months with the WAC training Center in Florida. Mr. Weaver is the son of Mrs. Daisy Weaver of Gibson. He spent over three years in the Navy, serving in the Atlantic and Pacific areas. The couple will reside at present with his mother. Stitch and Chatter Club The Stitch and Chatter club met on April 10, at the home of Mrs. Al ma Farson with sixteen members and four visitors present. Members pres ent were as follows: Mrs. Glenna Misel, Lola Mitchell, Nina Stewart, Irene Landaker, Lucy Blackburn, Nora Hughes, Ruth Ste wart, Winnie Slater, -uetta Hughes, Katie Hale, Mabel Misel, Ella Burk hart, Pearl Danford, Edith Chandler and the Farson. Visitors were: Hazel Baker, Mayme Waller, Susabelle Landaker, Robert and Louise Misel, Carl Stewart, Leo Burkhart, Wayne Love and Hal Far son. Cleo Waller, hostess Alma Madge ove, Crooks, June Cleo Waller received the club prize, and June Waller the guest prize. At noon a pot-luck dinner was enjoyed and it was decided that the next meeting would be held at the home of Mrs. Ed Stewart on May 8. Delta Alpha Meeting Mrs. Billa Patterson and Mrs. Clifford King, entertained members of the Delta Alpha class of the First Church of Christ at the home of Mrs. Mary Wiley on Belford street, Tuesday evening. Mrs. Hazel Shuttleworth, presi dent, presided at the business ses sion and Mrs. Lucy Jennings had charge of the program, consisting of songs, readings and talks centered around the Easter and Ressurrection. An educational contest was en joyed, with Mrs. Willis Hupp winning the prize. A feature of the social hour, was the Faster Bonnet Sale. Members donated the hats, which were sold ranging from ten to twenty five cents. Each purchaser wearing her new “Easter Bonnet” during the remainder of the evening. A dessert refreshment course was served to the following present: Mrs. Mollie Patton, Mrs. Gerald Miller, Mrs. M. C. District Meeting Held The Cambridge District Women’s Society of Christian Ser vice met at the First Methodist church at Senecaville on April 11, at 10:30 a. m. with Mrs. A. M. Hunter, District president, presiding. A pro gram was held followed by a lunch eon at noon. About two hundred were in attendance. S. was held Tuesday evening at the First Methodist church with Mrs. Henry Brumbach, president, presiding. At the business meeting plans were discussed for laying carpet at the parsonage, and later sanding the floors. The request for $15.00 for home and foreign mis sions and three wool sweaters for boys was accepted. Effie Warren, secretary of supplies, was instructed to order a sample sweater. Mrs. W. A. Okey led the devotionals, and Ethelene Danford had charge of the program. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Glen Warner, Mrs. Frank Tilton, Mrs. Lucien Young, and Miss Alice Guiler. Homebuilder’s Class The Homebuilder’s class of the First Methodist church held their regular meeting in the church base ment on Wednesday evening, April 17, with Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Musser as companion hosts and hostesses. Rev. A. B. Mercer, former pastor, was the guest speaker. The group then at tended the lenten services one hour in the church auditorium. Sunday Dinner Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Heddleson of Fairground road, entertained with a three course dinner on Sunday, in honor of their son, Eugene Heddle son, who recently received his dis charge from the army, after having served several months in Europe.
