Thursday, May 9, 1946 Annual Junior-Senior Banquet Successful The annual junior-senior banquet of Caldwell high school was held in the American Legion hall Saturday evening with members of the facul ty, the board of education, the senior class, additional guests, and junior class, who acted as hosts hostesses, present. Simon-Wray Mr. and Mrs. Walter Simon of Newark, formerly of Belle Valley, are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Louise to Charles Wray, son of Mrs. Sarah Wray of Belle Valley. The wedding was an event of April 21, in the Wesleyan Metho dist church of Newark, with Kenneth Lewis officiating at single ring ceremony. Nichols-St. Clair Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nichols of Olive Green are announcing the mar riage of their daughter, Mabel, to James St. Clair of Salesville. Mar riage vows were exchanged April 21, in the Methodist church at Green, with the pastor, Rev. Brown, officiating. The former Miss Simon was grad uated from the Belle Valley high school, and is now employed by A. H. Heisey Company. Mr. Wray was discharged recently from the armed service after serving forty-two months, thirty months of which were spent in the Pacific theatre of operations. He is em ployed by the Owens-Corning Fiber glass Corporation. The couple will make their home at 111 South 3rd. street, Newark. Archer Hesson, 77, late Millard Hesson, county commissioner for many years at died at her home on in Caldwell, at 9 MRS. MARY HF.SSON Mrs. Mary widow of the former Noble and merchant East Union, North street, o’clock Monday evening, following a short illness. Her husband died in 1936. Funeral services were held at the home on North street, Thursday, at 2 p. m., with Rev. W. E. Peters of Summerfield officiating, followed by burial in Olive cemetery, with the Brubach funeral home in charge of arrangements. FRANK A. SMITH Frank A. Smith, 73, prominent retired Caldwell businessman, was found dead at his home on West North street, at 4:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. Death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Smith had been in failing health for two years but his death was unexpected. The son of the late Ambrose and Regina Funk Smith, he was born near Fulda. Following his marriage to Miss Julia Ehlermann, he was engaged in the mercantile business at Fulda for 21 years. He moved to Caldwell 18 years ago and owned and operated the Caldwell company ago. He was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus council. His wife died nine years ago. Funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Monday morning at St. Philo mena church with Rev. Fr. Stephen Pekalla officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery at in charge of the Estadt home.
