CLAHK. A lecture-demonstration of television transmission will be given by Robert C. Clark, of Cleveland, public relations sup ervisor for the Ohio Bell Tele phone company, before an assembly of the student body at Belle Valley village school at 9:00 a. m., Thursday, May 19. In explaining and demonstrat ing the principles of radar and the use of micro-waves in trans mitting television pictures, Clark will use special apparatus to show micro-waves may be re flected, bent, made to go around corners and concentrated into narrow beams. He will also describe the Bell System Coaxial cable network, which augments the radio relay system in carrying both network television programs and regular long distance telephone messages frorrt one city to another. Clark has been with the Ohio Bell for 26 years. Previous to his entry into the telephone business, he was in the sales field and employment work and then in the advertising departments of newspapers in Detroit, Akron and Canton. Science students from Cald well high school, Dexter City and Sarahsville schools were in vited by Principal Harry E. Fast to attend this special assembly. Mr. Robertson started with this com pany on May 8,1935 as a ground man and during the years has been advanced until he is now district serviceman for this area. Active in civic affairs of the community, Mr. Robertson is a member of the local Methodist church, Caldwell Boosters club, Noble County Fish & Game club, Moose lodge and the Noble County Chamber of Commerce.
