Using as his heading the slogan adopted by the Noble County Traffic and Safety committee, Uncle Sam Stille takes off in the following vein: Get out of the road. I got a new car. I got one that has been re built and hepped up and it will go like hell and takes the curves like a black snake. I haint goin no place at all—but I am goin as fast as my car will go. When I get where I haint goin I will be re turnin like lightenin to some place where I haint when I get there. The main point is get out of my way fer I haint stoppin fer nobody. I can out run and out smart the State Police. I can pass any car on the highway and then some. Sure I been to High School and to College also got me a diploma from both. Dident pass many of the grades but the teachers let me pass any way and now that I am on the highway with my car which haint paid for yet, I am still in the passin class. I got two carborators on my job, two exaust pipes, two gas ped als. The tires haint much acount and the steering gear needs some fixin but them things dont count any how. I haint got no insurance, costs too much and as long as people stay out of my way I don't need any pertection. Such is the mental attitude of the highway murderers running at will upon our roads. I have this to say, such drivers are wise, in telligent, reasonable, considerate, polite, they would put such men as Edison, Ford, and other great men to shame. Boy, are they smart. They think they are mighty clever. In faet a jackass has lost more brains a thousand years ago than they will ever have. They are afflicted with the deadening leprosey of gasitis that destroys the power to think—pity the poor saps, they have no brains. They got a license all right, paid for it and the state took their money. "Slow down and live." Hell, why should they live? Get out of their way and open the gates to hell and let them go. The quicker this is done the sooner it will be safe for decent people to use the highways. Decent citizens love life, they want to live and they drive as a gentleman should, with respect for himself and others as well. "Slow down and live." Lorenz fr '•v.
